Born in Quebec City, Andr\u00e9e Levesque Sioui is a multi-talented Wendat artist. A singer, composer, author, poet, and finger-weaver, she also teaches the Wendat language to the youth of Wendake. <\/strong><\/p>

After a journey that took her to various regions of Quebec, she returned to her grandmother’s community in the 2000s. Already a polyglot, she decided to dedicate herself to the Yawenda revitalization project. From that point on, the Wendat language became the heart of her artistic process. Although she has always loved reading and writing, her musical career developed before her career in the literary arts. She has participated in the creation of several albums, including Yahndawa\u2019 (2011), Fais dodo mon tr\u00e9sor (2012), and Ozalik (2013).

After a long creative process, her very first collection of poetry, Chant(s), was finally published by \u00c9ditions Hannenorak in March 2021. The book is a tribute to the women in her life, but it also addresses various issues, such as those experienced by First Nations members within the Quebec cultural landscape.

Singer-songwriter and violist Sandrine Masse has made a name for herself for over 15 years, lending her voice and viola playing to projects of all genres. A graduate of the \u00c9cole nationale de la chanson, she won the Premier prix Georges-Dor and the People’s Choice Award at the Chante en fran\u00e7ais competition in 2022.<\/strong><\/p>

That same year, her debut EP L\u2019ours noir marked the beginning of her presence on the Quebec music scene. After taking part in several festivals, competitions, and residencies, she released L\u00e0 o\u00f9 la terre est (2024), an atmospheric folk opus celebrating her ancestral and personal territories. In it, she integrates the Wendat language for the first time in ‘Tho \u00efohtih’, a song that reached number 1 on the Attitude Franco chart (Sirius XM) in September 2024.<\/p>

Alongside her solo project, she promotes her culture through the multidisciplinary duo Les Coz des ma\u00efs and serves her community by participating in various cultural revitalization and outreach projects.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
